Cold Spring Harbor Protocols Book Cites Cleanascite™ for Ascites Clarification
MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ, November 15, 2021 -- Biotech Support Group reports on a research article describing the simplicity and efficiency of their lipid depletion technology to clarify ascites fluid to recover monoclonal antibodies. The citation is:
Ascitic fluid (also called ascites) is an intraperitoneal fluid extracted from mice that have developed a peritoneal tumor. For antibody production, the tumor is induced by injecting hybridoma cells into the peritoneum, which serves as a growth chamber for the cells. The hybridoma cells grow to high densities and continue to secrete the antibody of interest, thus creating a high-titered solution of antibodies for collection. In the TROUBLESHOOTING section, the book states: Problem (Step 8): A precipitate of lipids and/or cryoproteins has formed. Solution: This may be produced by long-term storage at 4°C. These precipitates can be removed by centrifugation or by using Cleanascite (Biotech Support Group X2555) for clarification.
“Its very rewarding to see how Cleanascite™ can enhance cancer research associated with the selective removal of fatty acids. Cleanascite™ is an aqueous suspension product without harmful solvents, or any other non-specific cytotoxic effects. This ultimately helps researchers decide whether or not lipids, or factors interacting with lipids, impart characteristic changes in cells. This article exemplifies such utility.” states Swapan Roy, Ph.D., President and Founder of Biotech Support Group Click to visit Cleanascite™ product page and ordering information
Converging with cultural and technological disruptions forthcoming in healthcare, Biotech Support Group develops methods for cost effective and efficient sample prep essential for these expanding markets.
