JournalArticle Describes HemogloBind™ For Improved Cytokine Analysis
MONMOUTHJUNCTION, NJ, May 19, 2022 -- Biotech Support Group reports on aresearch publication describing the simplicity and efficiency oftheir hemoglobin depletion products for cytokine/chemokineimmunoassay measurements. The citation is:
Phillippi,Danielle T., et al. "Inhaleddiesel exhaust particles result in microbiome-related systemicinflammation and altered cardiovascular disease biomarkers in C57Bl/6male mice."Particleand fibre toxicology 19.1(2022): 1-29.
Exposureto particulate matter (PM) is a known mediator of inflammation andCVD. However, the role of inhaled traffic-generated PM on the gutmicrobiome and its corresponding systemic effects are notwell-characterized. Thus, the study investigated exposure to inhaleddiesel exhaust particles (DEP) on mice.To determine systemic inflammation, following HemogloBind™treatment, plasma concentrations of 20 Cytokines were measured using a MouseCytokine/Chemokine Magnetic Bead Panel; the article stating“HemogloBindwas added to plasma samples (1:1 ratio), … and centrifuged for2 min at 9000 RPMs.” Key findings were that inhaled DEPexposure alters small intestinal microbial profiles to which play arole in systemic inflammation and early CVD biomarkers.
“Thelarge amount of hemolysis in mice plasma presents a special challengefor quantitative analysis. This article is one more example of howHemogloBind™ can reduce interference from hemoglobin, withoutcompromising the recovery and measurement of very low concentrationanalytes like cytokines.” states Swapan Roy, Ph.D., President andFounder of Biotech Support Group.
