ResearchArticle Cites Cleanascite™ In Regulation of Hepatitis B Virus invitro
MONMOUTHJUNCTION, NJ,April17, 2019 -- Biotech Support Group reports on a recent researcharticle describing the simplicity and efficiency of their lipidclearance sample preparation technology for determining variabilityin the invitroregulation of Hepatitis B virus (HBV). The citation is:
Lee,Hong-Jai, et al."Regulatoryeffect of humoral milieu on the viral DNA and surface antigenexpression of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in vitro."Molecular& Cellular Toxicology15.2 (2019): 123-128.
Theinvestigations explored if humoral milieu such as serum or culturemedia, and its constituents, and pH would regulate the viral DNA andsurface antigen expression of HBV invitro. Furthermore, lipid removal analysis showed decreased level of HBV DNA and surfaceantigen expression in human and mouse serum. The article states “Toevaluate the lipid exposure status within lipid bilayer, Cleanascite(Biotech Support Group) was added to HBV mixtures in the human serum, mouse serum, or DMEM, and the HBsAg and HBV DNA were evaluated. …we examined the virus-lipid interaction in non-host milieu, andcompared the interaction between in host and non-host milieu. Thelevels of HBsAg and HBV DNA were significantly decreased with lipidremoval by Cleanascite in mouse serum rather than human serum”.The authors’ concluded that humorallipid might confer protection to virion against toxicants or hostileinteraction with humoral components.
“Thisarticle is another example for the value of Cleanascite™ as a serumdelipidation reagent so as to understandthe effects of lipids on the viability of viruses. It fits into manyother applications that show its utility in generating invitrocell responseinformation.” statesSwapan Roy, Ph.D., President and Founder of Biotech Support Group.
