ResearchPoster Cites Cleanascite™ for Cancer Cell Metabolism
MONMOUTHJUNCTION, NJ,November2, 2016 -- Biotech Support Group reports on a recent research posterdescribing the simplicity and efficiency of their sample preparationtechnology for clearing lipids from omentalexplant culture system, for the study of ovarian cancer cells andintraperitoneal tumor colonization.

Inbrief, the authors report thatthe high lipid content in ascetic fluid provides a huge energy sourcefor ovarian cancer cells in peritoneal dissemination andintraperitoneal tumor colonization. In this study, ovarian cancercells co-cultured with an omental explant culture system (OCM) orascetic fluid from ovarian cancer patients exhibited an increase ininvitrocell growth, cell migration/invasion through activation of TAK1/NF-kappaBsignaling cascade. Theabstract states “Incontrast, the oncogenic capacities of ovarian cancer cells wereimpaired when cultured in OCM treated with Cleanascite Lipid RemovalReagent, suggesting that the bioactive lipids in OCM are required forenhanced oncogenic capacities”.
“Iam very pleased that the versatility of Cleanascite™has helped to support a new area of research, studying the metabolicchanges associated with cancer. The exquisite selectivity profile ofCleanascite™makes this possible.” states Swapan Roy, Ph.D., President andFounder of Biotech Support Group.
