ApplicationsReport Highlights Advantages of Evaluating Both AlbuSorb™ PLUS andAlbuVoid™ PLUS in Serum Proteomic Workflows

MONMOUTHJUNCTION, NJ,August2, 2019 -- Biotech Support Group reports on a new applications reportwhich highlights the simplicity and efficiency of their Albumin &IgG depletion sample preparation technology as an enrichment step forhuman serum using LC-MS proteomic analysis. The title of the reportis:

Forserum, many proteomic enrichment strategies employ the use ofimmuno-affinity depletion to remove one or more high abundanceproteins. Some common limitations of immuno-affinity however are highcosts, and regeneration requirements which may result in a diminishedand inconsistent performance. Because of these limitations, proteomicresearchers need ways to enrich without immuno-affinity.Thisreport considers the advantages of first reducing the influence ofIgGs- a heterogeneous and proteolytically resistant class ofproteins, along with Albumin depletion. Two products - AlbuVoid™PLUS & AlbuSorb™ PLUS support depletion of both Albumin andIgG, through different strategies and workflows. Using LC-MSreporting metrics, the report highlights the serum sub-proteome biascharacteristics of these products. Some examples of their selectiveutility for biomarker discovery in cancer are also presented.

Throughoutour product and methods development efforts, we have been especiallyfocused on overcoming the challenges of clinical proteomics. Forthis, our central technology focus is to develop highly selectiveseparations products that do not rely on immuno-affinity. These canoffer many advantages necessary to transition from discovery ofbiomarkers to robust quantitation of clinically useful biomarkers. Iam pleased that this report highlights these advantages.” statesSwapan Roy, Ph.D., President and Founder of Biotech Support Group.
