Inbrief, while the landscape of cancer-associated DNA mutations hassupported the initial concepts for liquid biopsy, it is nowoverwhelmingly apparent that throughout cancer progression, there arenecessary adaptive microenvironments to support metastatic disease. We now present evidence that some of the essential interactionsbetween stroma and proliferating cells can in part, be monitoredthrough the protein response that tracksinto the vascularized tumor and re-proportions the extracellularproteins (serum) found in the general blood circulation. These patentpending proteomic patterns can now be reported as a Stroma LiquidBiopsy™.

Herewe demonstrate that our serum proteome separations workflow producesvery unique data that cannot be obtained by other methods. Our nextgoal is to associate this knowledge and data to establishrelationships with client supplied samples characterized forprogressive disease or response to therapies, ultimately achievingbiomarkers useful in the clinic. Consequently this cancer biomarkerprofile can now be commercialized for many different applicationsincluding early detection, oncology drug development and personalizedtherapy decisions.”states Swapan Roy, Ph.D., President and Founder of Biotech SupportGroup.
