In brief, the article’s authors aimed at simultaneously measuringintact insulin and proinsulin derived C-peptide, to help predict development ofdiabetes mellitus, as well as in differential diagnosis in cases ofhypoglycemia. The article states “…15 µl of internal standard wereadded to each well followed by 50 µl of Cleanascite™ delipidation reagentpreviously mixed into a uniform suspension by a brief aspiration/dispense cyclewithin its reagent reservoir.” The article further notes a key componentof the methodology as “…the use of a delipidation reagent toenhance immunocapture…The result was greatly enhanced recoveries andtighter CVs for the IS {internal standard} throughout the plate”.
