Research Article Cites Cleanascite™ for Alzheimer’s Disease Biomarkers MONMOUTH JUNCTION, N.J. – Sept. 17, 2015 – PRLog — MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ — Biotech Support Group reports on a recent research article describing the simplicity and efficiency of their proteomic sample preparation technology for clearing lipoproteins from human sera. The citation is: John A. McIntyre, Curtis J. Ramsey, Bruce D. Gitter,Andrew J. Saykin, Dawn R. Wagenknecht, Paul A. Hyslop. Antiphospholipid autoantibodies as blood biomarkers for detection of early stage Alzheimer’s disease. Autoimmunity, 2015; 48(5): 344-351. DOI: 10.3109/08916934.2015.1008464 In brief, the article’s authors aimed at identifying new biomarkers for early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, by ELISA measurement of redox reactive autoantibodies (R-RAAs) antiphospholipid antibodies. The article states “Aliquots of the 90 ADNI serum samples were thawed and treated with Cleanascite™ (Biotech Support Group) at a serum: Cleanascite™ ratio of 4:1 v/v in 2 ml micro centrifuge tubes with gentle rocking at 37°C for 10min followed by centrifugation for 1 min at 16 000g. Treatment with Cleanascite™ removes lipoproteins from the serum, which have been shown to bind and undergo oxidation with hemin.” “This is an excellent example of how Cleanascite™ can improve ELISA measurements. Clearly, there was necessity for removing lipoproteins without compromising the quantity or quality of the autoantibodies present and to be measured. The exquisite selectivity profile of Cleanascite™ makes this possible.” states Swapan Roy, Ph.D., President and Founder of Biotech Support Group.
