Protocol
Cleanascite™ LX is supplied as an aqueous suspension of non-ionic adsorbent in DI water, pH 8.0. After centrifugation, the pellet is 1/2 of the total volume and the supernatant is 1/2 of the total volume.

Resuspend Cleanascite™ LX by gentle shaking. Excessive shaking may cause foaming. It should be completely resuspended prior to use.

Add Cleanascite™ LX to the sample at minimum 1:3 (or alternative higher) ratio. Mix the sample by gentle shaking for 20 minutes.

Micro-centrifuge sample at 8,000 rpm’s (5,000xg) for 10 minutes.

Carefully aspirate supernatant for analysis.

Optimization. Different sample volumes are easily scaled. Volume ratio can be adjusted up or down as required to remove the amount of impurities present.

Do BSG's products work for all species?

Yes, as our products are not derived from antibodies, they are species agnostic, and have applied to humans, mice, rats, guinea pigs, goats, cows, pigs, even frogs and fish.

Can you supply bulk material only (from the kit-based products) for large volume orders?

Yes, we can adjust all of our kit products, to supply only the beads. For large orders, whether kit or bulk material, we provide special discounted quotations. Please inquire.

Can the protocol be scaled to accommodate different amounts of either volume or mass?

Yes, we provide general guidelines for use, but the protocols can usually be adjusted to accommodate either larger or small starting samples, or larger or smaller starting concentrations. We recommend first contacting us for guidance in adjusting the protocol.

Can the products be adapted to high throughput formats and automation?

Although we do not have an off-the-shelf product for 96-well formats currently, we have ongoing collaborations that can provide such formats. Please inquire.

Are the products compatible with detergents?

This has not been fully investigated, but we do not recommend use of SDS. Low concentrations, 0.1 – 0.5% of non-ionic detergents have been used with some of our products, but to what extent they alter separation performance, is unknown. If non-ionic detergents are to be used, generally we recommend that they be of no greater than 0.1% before applying to the beads. So for tissue lysates for example at higher %, dilute the sample before application.

What is the stability and shelf life of the product?

The products have a shelf life typically 6 months to 1 year. We ship at room temperature, but recommend storage at 4°C upon receipt. Do not freeze.

Do the products contain any biologically derived material?

All of our products are derived chemically, not biologically, with one exception. The "PLUS" products contain recombinant Protein A.
